Nutrtional Facts:

Despite their hardy appearance, beetroots are a delicate vegetable with a unique group of antioxidants called Betacyanins – it’s these pigments that give the beetroot their strong colour and they are a key source of their benefits – particularly for supporting the liver, improving circulation and purifying the blood.

The phytochemicals in beetroot stimulate the production of glutathione, a detoxifying antioxidant that combines with an array of antioxidant pigments to aid liver function and neutralise the excrete toxins. Its antioxidant properties are believed to help lower cholesterol and blood pressure, while the B vitamins improve nerve function, helping to maintain a strong regular heartbeat. A combination of iron and antioxidants helps feed and purify the blood while improving its oxygen uptake make beetroot a useful remedy for anaemia.
